Dear Ukrainian colleagues,

On the occasion of Accountants Day in Ukraine, I would like to take the opportunity to send my greetings and also invite you all to help the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) develop its next five-year plan. The IASB is currently asking stakeholders to share their views with us on how we should use our resources. For example, how much time should we spend on developing new IFRS Standards compared with how much time we spend on supporting consistent application of the Standards? Also, which projects and topics should we prioritise in the years ahead? The consultation is an important opportunity for us to hear from the people using our Standards — I very much encourage you to weigh in. The consultation is open for comments until 27 September 2021. As the new Chair of the IASB, I want to continue the good work of my predecessor in developing IFRS Standards that bring transparency, accountability and efficiency to financial markets around the world, while also increasing the horizon scanning for new issues and developments that may require standard-setting so we can be agile in our response. To achieve that, we need to work closely with our stakeholders.
